Education Philosophy
Education is a continuous process of acquiring, reviewing, disposing Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, Attitudes and Values (VACKS). The processes include interactions, relationships, experiences, problem solving, immersion and reflection. The processes are unique to the individuals and are based to the individual preferences. The key is to attain competencies which are unique to individual and can be measured against a criterion based benchmark. This can be by self, peer or a facilitator. The success is exposed by not only behavioral change or knowledge based scores but all the holistic transformation of the learners and the level of transferring the transformation a far. The facilitators role who is a learner is to spark interest, ignite passions for learning and fuel the third for growth. The facilitator learns as well when they teach. The learning should be structure in the following four constructs flexibility and depth, contextualization, Small group and talk and assessment for learning and challenge to facilitate individualization, personalization and differentiation. Planning is crucial and is part of the facilitation as it acts as a guide to the real lesson/session happened during the delivery and its success is not on how best the teacher is teaching or facilitator facilitating but how both learners and facilitators are engaging which what is offered, reflecting on it and making meaning at their individual pace. Education is meant to make a person better, the world a better place and the environment and resource sustainable. The role of a facilitator is to nurture every learners potential as they also grow professionally through the facilitation. . |
